Deputy President Dr. William Ruto Secretly Luring Oparanya-Wetang’ula-Lusaka Impact
The country is now deep in an active political mode with various politicians making strategic moves that will position themselves favourably for the 2022 polls, where president Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to hang up his boots and hand over power to a Successor.
And with this in mind, many political players have been angling to get a share of the populous western Kenya vote with the region currently appearing to be divided into at least three camps: those who support local leaders like Moses Wetang’ula and Musalia Mudavadi, those who support deputy president William Ruto and those who support the Handshake camp.
And now, The Star News brief indicates that secret talks have been ongoing between deputy president William Ruto’s camp and that of Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya and senate speaker Kenneth Lusaka.
The publication reliably reports that emissaries have already been sent to Senate speaker Kenneth Lusaka with the aim of having him join DP Ruto’s camp ahead of the polls with the recognition that he is an influential force in Bungoma county politics.
Also, reports indicate that Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetang’ula of the One Kenya Alliance and Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya are also being courted with the aim to seal Ruto’s support in the region.
