Employment creation policies in Kenya has been seen as a greater factor for economic growth and development. The underlying parameter has been that faster economic growth would lead to employment creation and that income generation would improve the standards of living and eradication of poverty.
Therefore unemployment on the other hand affects the economic growth of any country, including Kenya. This is because unemployment of the people especially the youth.
In line with its mandate of maintaining stability and fostering a stable financial system, the Central Bank of Kenya has been running internship program that seeks to develop a pool of young talent adequately exposed to Central and Commercial banking operations.
Therefore the internship program runs for six months after which the candidates are released to pursue opportunities in the job market.
