The residents of Awendo Sub-County in Migori County on Saturday May 29 witnessed a very horrific scene after a probox heading to Awendo town from Rongo ramped off the road and plunged into a group of pedestrians and ‘boda boda’ which was carrying two church Official who were coming from Saturday church service.
Reports indicated that the probox car was heavily loaded with a posh mill machine at the time of the accident. eye witness who was at the scene at the time of the accident occurance, said that one person died instantly while two others were rushed to the Migori level four hospita in critical conditions but later succumbed to their injuries raising the death toll to three.
The report reaching us now cites that the two victims who were traveling on motorbike To Huwi village in Homabay county from Awendo were top officials of St Joseph’s church, they are said to be the church’s assistant bishop and a pastor respectively.
The Migori Sub-County police boss Madam Mary Musyoka while confirming the latest reports told the Radio Ramogi news reporters, said that the accident might have happened due to over speeding and other human related negligence.
