Angry Deputy President William Samoei Ruto and his aides have today Thursday, July 1, 2021, hit out at the Directorate Criminal Investigations DCI, for being used for political purposes agitating that politics must be detached from the fight against corruption citing that the fight against corruption will only succeed the day politics will be separated from fighting it.
The second in command reiterated that Kenyans should remove ethnicity or political lenses and prosecute corruption as corruption, he added that the day DCI will avoid the weaponization of politics or political opinion and use the criminal justice system to try to blackmail and intimidate people on matters to do with politics, that is the day they will succeed with the fight against corruption.
DP Also said that they cannot assist those who don’t have ideas on how to move Kenya forward by fighting using the criminal justice system to fight the people who have better ideas on how to take Kenya forward.
His sentiments come just barely some hours after speculations were citing that the DCI is planning to arrest DP Ruto’s aide and the Madhira Member of Parliament Hon. Rigathi Gachagua.
