Big Win For DP Ruto As Kiambaa Jubilee Party Aspirant Decamps To UDA Camp Ahead of By-election
Deputy President William Samoei Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance UDA party, has received a major boost ahead of Kiambaa Constituency By election after Eric Mutura Mbugua who was an aspirant for Kiambaa Constituency by-election using Jubilee party officially announced that he will be backing the UDA Candidate; John Njuguna Wanjiku.
This comes just few days after ruling Jubilee party unveiled its candidate for Kiambaa Constituency and Muguga Ward by-elections, after a successful conclusion of interviews held in search of a strong candidate who will carry the Jubilee flag in the two mini-polls.
Unveiling of the candidates sets the stage for UDA and Jubilee to wrestle each other in what will play out as a supremacy battle whose end goal will be to establish who controls the larger Mt Kenya region.
The Kiambaa seat fell vacant following the death of Paul Koinange who succumbed to Covid-19 related complications on March 31.
And the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) set July 15 as the date for the two by-elections both in Kiambu County.
