Former Nairobi Governor Sonko Responds to Headline by The Standard on his Dramatic Life
Former Nairobi Governor, Mike Mbuvi Sonko has taken issues with The Standard newspaper following its today’s headline focusing on the life of the embattled former governor who has several court cases running. The paper has an image of the flamboyant Nairobi politician with the headline that reads Inside the tragic world of Sonko.*
The article recounts Sonko’s rise to the top, his theatrics that bordered on being a goon, his rise to be the king of bling and recording private conversations and using them to his advantage as well as releasing screenshots.Sonko fired back almost immediately, stating that the media seems to be obsessed with him and must be missing him. He dismiussed the publication and urged the press to give him space to enjoy his life as a good citizen. Kumbe the newspapers and the media cartels are really missing me? Hebu muniache nirelax kama raia mwema bana jamani, tweeted Sonko.”Kumbe the newspapers and the media cartels are really missing me? Among the things that he exposed is how he allegedly teamed up with goons to vandalize vehicles which were then blamed on opposition supporters following the hotly-contested 2017 elections. He also exposed how excrement was dumped at Jacaranda grounds to prevent opposition leader Raila Odinga fropm hosting a political rally at the grounds.
