Good News To The 13 Counties Recently Declared Covid-19 Hotspot As CS Matiang’i Say This

Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i has today Monday, June 21, 2021, given hopes to all the religions and residents in the 13 Counties which was recently declared Covid-19 hotspot after he took to his Twitter handle and said that his ministry is Keen on resuming worship in the said 13 counties.

He however said that that they are guided by professionals from the Ministry of Health Kenya on how fast and safely the counties and the government can achieve this.

He went ahead and praised the Inter-Faith council for being a key ally in the fight against Covid-19 and its extension of the term to Dec 31, 2021, allow GoK to leverage its faith community network in sanitization and rapid distribution of vaccines.

The 13 counties under the new curfew hours, are Busia, Vihiga, Kisii, Nyamira, Kakamega, Bungoma, Kericho, Bomet, Trans Nzoia, Kisumu, Siaya, Homa-Bay, and Migori.

The current surge in infections in the western region is partly blamed on the national Independence Day event hosted in Kisumu County in early June. Thousands of people were seen running after politicians.
