Huge Boost to Azimio as Top Mt Kenya Governor is Expected to Officially Endorse Raila Again
A week after the Mount Kenya region tour by Azimio la Umoja presidential running mate Martha Karua tour in the Meru County, fresh details have emerged concerning the political fight between Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi and Agriculture CS Peter Munya.
Governor Kiraitu and Igembe North MP Maoka Maorwe skipped the alleged rally over divisive politics, where they accused Munya of dividing the party for his personal interests.
In reports later, the devolution empowerment party leader also accused the CS of secretly meeting her competitor Kawira Mwangaza in Nanyuki and funding her campaigns.
However, according to the latest reports, the two have through the Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga accepted to solve the problem and work together towards ensuring that their coalition wins the elections.
The two camps who are resolved to unite and spearhead the Azimio campaigns will be attending a meeting at Sera Park in Buuri constituency to ratify and announce their decision publicly to the people of Meru
This will therefore enable them to campaign together unlike before when the governor even told his residents to vote for the presidential candidate they want.
“I have my right as Kiraitu Murungi to decide who I’ll vote for. My wife and I will be for Raila Odinga. But I haven’t told you to go and vote for Raila. Vote for who you want,” the governor earlier on said.
