The Kenya Urban Roads Authority has announced a three-week traffic disruption along Ngong Road near Junction Mall, from Tuesday, November 18, 2025, to Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
In a public notice, KURA announced that the interruption will allow for the erection of a steel structure for the ongoing flyover construction in that busy part of the road. It said works would be daily between 8:00 PM and 5:00 AM, excluding Sundays when no construction would be undertaken.
“The disruption is to allow for erection of the steel structure for the flyover currently under construction. The works will be carried out between 8:00 PM and 5:00 AM daily except on Sunday,” KURA said in the notice.
To ease movement, traffic between Nairobi City County Training School and Kenya Science Campus will be diverted to allow two-way flow within the affected stretch. KURA has urged motorists to remain alert and cooperate with traffic officers and marshals who will be stationed on-site to guide road users.
“Motorists are advised to exercise caution when approaching the affected section and to observe all traffic signs and directions issued by police officers and traffic marshals,” KURA added.
The announcement follows KURA’s July 2025 plans to build footbridges along the Ngong Road–Karen Road corridor following public outcry over the absence of pedestrian facilities. The authority apologized for the inconvenience, assuring motorists that the works are part of its efforts to enhance road safety and improve urban mobility.
