Uhuru Dealt Huge Blow As Kiambaa Residents Vow To Vote UDA Candidate Ahead Of By-election Because Of This
Resident of the Kiambaa constituency has today vowed to vote in favor of Deputy President William Samoei Ruto’s newly born party United Democratic Alliance, over the ruling President Uhuru Kenyatta’s party jubilee party citing that they feel betrayed Uhuru as they take to the street to renovate their roads by themselves.
This comes after Deputy President William Samoei Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance party factions lead by their Kiambaa constituency candidate John Njuguna Wanjiku started a fundraiser to help in the Development of infrastructures in the region, before commencing in the voluntarily repairing of the roads in the region by the residents themselves.
During the whole process, the residents can be heard lamenting in Kikuyu language promising to vote hon Njuguna teach President Uhuru a lesson citing that the head of state has neglected them in favor of Luo Nyanza.
Kiambaa Constituency lost its MP Paul Koinange to Covid-19 related complications on March 31.
The IEBC later announced the date for the by-elections for Kiambaa Member of National Assembly and Muguga Ward MCA.
In a Gazette notice on Monday, IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati said both mini-polls will be held on July 15.
Also the campaign period for purposes of the Thursday, July 15, 2021, a by-election commenced on, Monday, May 24, 2021, and cease on Monday, July 12, 2021, being 48 hours before the by-election day.
The campaign time shall run from 7.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. during the campaign period.
“Political parties and Independent candidates shall appoint and submit to the Commission the names of their Constituency Elections Agents to the Commission on or before Thursday, 1st July 2021,” IEBC notes.
