Woman In Police Custody For Killing Her Employer’s Son And Injuring The Wife


The 24-year-old Lydia Chelagat Kipng’etich, who is accused of killing her employer’s 7-year-old son and seriously injuring his wife is now cooling her heels in the police cells.

The suspect who was employed by the Rumuruti based Prison warder as a nanny is reported to have attacked his wife in the dead of the night with a panga in her sleep.

She knew so well that the man of the house was not home hence her best hit time.

Unknown to the family, the 7-year-old son was her first target of murder. The distress call and blood oozing from her injured hands alarmed the neighbors who acted with immediate effect.

However, during the confusion, that is when the attacker got a chance to escape.
However, as the neighbors acted to rush the woman to the hospital, that is when they stumbled on the body of the 7-year-old body in cold blood, hidden under the bed. Blood was coming from the mouth with no physical injuries.

The woman was however rushed to the hospital as the body of her 7-year-old son was moved to the morgue. However, the police launched a manhunt for the suspect who had disappeared into thin air.

The search began in the Kiptangwanyi and Kongasia areas of Gilgil, Nakuru County. The suspect was later found at her friend’s house after some hours of searching in Kongasis where she was escorted to Marigat police station awaiting trial at the Kabarnet Law Courts tomorrow.

Equally, it is yet to be discovered why the suspect did whatever she did on that day.
