“Kimeumana” Angry Kenyan Calls For Arrest Of IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebuka After He Allegedly Did This

Kenya controversial blogger Robert Alai has come out to call for the arrest of IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati after allegedly sent wrong Building Bridges Initiative BBI Bill to county assemblies intentionally. Alai cited that Mr. Chebukati should be arrested and but behind bars because he is a danger to the stability of the county.

His plee comes after experts contracted by Parliament to review the bill said only 13 county assemblies received the right version of the legislation for consideration. At least 43 county assemblies approved the bill.

Variances were also cited in marginal notes and references to articles that the Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill, 2020, seeks to amend.

Some lawmakers say the scenerio presents a potential legal nightmare. However, others argue it depends on the extent to which the variances affect the content of the bill.

Even so, the situation puts the IEBC on the spot, being the body mandated to communicate the bill to the assemblies.

IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati, however, maintained that the commission received printed hard copies of the draft Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill, 2020 from the promoters.
