Governor Zachary Okoth Obado has signaled plans to abscond ODM and Vie for Presidency in 2022.

Migori governor Okoth Obado has come out openly to challenge Raila Odinga for the seat of Luo kingpin by decamping from Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).Obado said he will now concentrate on reviving the People Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of next general elections which he used in 2013 when he was first elected.” I will seek mandate of votes with PDP directly the same way I came to citizens directly in 2013, we will give people`s voice a chance,” Obado said.He was speaking over the weekend in his Uriri constituency backyard. He said already ODM leader Raila Odinga has been ” washed politically,” by Uhuru Kenyatta by the flopping handshake and the Building Bridges Initiative by starting Kenya One Alliance. The alliance is led by Kalonzo Musyoka, Gideon Moi, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula, former Raila allies.” We were told that nobody could stop reggae, but right now it looks like a cockroach as eaten a wire in the system and the tune is not coming out properly,” Obado said.He said BBI is dead on arrival as it will not add money to devolved which is proposed at 35 per cent.” We dont want anything to do with BBI which will only add burden to Kenyans by increasing seats for elites. If you pointed out why BBi is bad you were arrested and charged, but through God we can say BBI is bad,” he said.Signs that Obado was leaving ODM started with him meeting Omingo Magara, former South Mugirango MP and PDP party leader at his Rapogi home.Shortly afterwards an ODM office associated with him in Migori town was repainted in February. In January 23, Raila told off Obado in public for working with Deputy President William Ruto to undermine Luo unity during the funeral of former Ndhiwa MP Owigo Olang` in Nyatike constituency.
