The Ministry of Education announces the plans of slashing the school fees for the secondary schools across the country.
According to report shared by the Ministry of Education, this was arrived as result of reduction in the number of weeks in the new academic year.
According to the new school calendar the number of academic weeks reduced from 39 to 30 weeks in a year.
However the CS Ministry of Education added that the school fees reduced significantly lower because the country is undergoing the economic downturns.
Most people who were employed got dismissed because of the surge in Covid 19.
Therefore parents will be paying as follows.
1. National Schools
Location: Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, Kisumu, Thika, Nyeri and Eldoret.
Fees amount: Shs 45000
2. Country and sub county schools
Fees amount: Shs 35000
3. Special schools
Fees amount: Ksh 10860 yearly
