Six form three students at a Kisumu school were on Monday arrested after being found in possession of bhang.
The learners at Tieng’re mixed secondary school were rounded up by police from Kogony post, in collaboration with Korando assistant chief. They were hiding in a rental house.
According to Kisumu County Police Commander Samuel Anampiu, the six – all of them boys are aged between 17 and 19 years.
“They were found with three and a half rolls of bhang which was under the table,” said Anampiu.
He said the exhibits were kept by police. “Suspects are expected to be arraigned in court tomorrow,” added the Commander.
It is not clear how the students managed to sneak out of school for a time in the rental house, at the moment they were supposed to be in class. The matter brings to fore cases of students getting involved in drugs and the expense of their education.
