Speculations As Uhuru Set To Endorse Raila During Madaraka Day Celebration In Kisumu

There are speculation going round in every social media platforms ahead of tomorrow’s Madaraka day celebration scheduled to take place in the heart of Nyanza province in kisumu county, as most people now argue that during this special event taking place in Raila’s backyard, President Uhuru Kenyatta whose term is almost done might take the chance to endorse the Orange Democratic Movement party leader and the former Prime Minister his excellence hon. Raila Amollo Odinga as his successor in the 2022 general election.

This comes as a result of the May 2020 Handshake which came to many as a surprise leading to the bitter fallout between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.

President Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga are set to preside over the tomorrow’s Madaraka day event.

Madaraka Day, 1st June, commemorates the day that Kenya attained internal self-rule in 1963, preceding full independence from the United Kingdom on 12 December 1963.

This year June 1 event, which commemorates the day the country attained self-rule, is scheduled to be held at the stadium located in Mamboleo, Kisumu East.

Confirming the even venue, State House spokes lady Kanze Dena earlier said they were considering changing the venue to Kisumu State lounge over the rising cases of Covid-19 in the county.

But Kibicho during an address to journalists on Sunday said the works at the new stadium are currently at 99 per cent complete.

He further noted that due to the Covid-19 situation the number of citizens attending event has been highly reduced and admission to the Stadium will be strictly by invitation card.

However, he indicated that only 3,000 invited guests will be allowed to attend the event which will be graced by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Burundian counterpart Evariste Ndayishimiye, who is expected to arrive in the country on Monday.
