Orie Rogo Manduli, a politician popularly known for her sense of fashion, was reported dead on Wednesday, September 8. She was the first African woman to participate in the East African safari rally in 1974 and 1975. Rogo Manduli, through her sense of fashion, was crowned miss East Africa while at 16 years.
The renowned Kenyan politician was synonymous with African attire’s that would would be accompanied by matching headgear.Her journey in politics began when she become the first woman to chair the National council of Non-governmental Organization (NGOs).
In her political world, she gave her male counterpart tough moments during her leadership. Some people would even destroy her properties and at times would even be beaten which shows that she persevered alot during that period. She was finally forced to quit after which she maintained the fact that she was the best chair in the council.
Kenya have lost a great person and may her soul rest in eternal Peace.
