On the evening of the labour day May 1, 2021, a drunk Kenyan was filmed engaging in a physical confrontation with a cop who was in line of duty on the busy road heading to Karen residence.
The person in question was apparently drunk, something which seems to have forced the police officer to take away his (drunk man) car keys, a move that infuriated the intoxicated citizen.
He however demanded to be taken to Karen police post because of the reasons he knew better.
The officer official attire tried to play cool but the drunkard man kept on pushing him insisting to be taken to a police station.
Following on online uproar, police boss Hillary N. Mutyambai has revealed the identity of the man as an officer attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI. Mutyambia further said that the man in question shall be arrested in court for the offences of driving under influence of alcohol and assaulting a police officer.
“My attention has been drawn to a video circulating on social media of a civilian attacking a Traffic Police Officer. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the civilian in the said video is an officer attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.”
“He has so far been arrested and shall be arraigned in court for the offences of driving under the influence of alcohol and assaulting a Police Officer. Processes are also in place for further administrative action.”
