GACHAGUA in panic RAILA’s Azimio makes good its threat against him – See what Senator SIFUNA has done that may have ripple effects?

Wednesday, March 1, 2023 – It is now a matter of time before Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is impeached.

This is after Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna tabled a censure motion against him in the Senate over his recent remarks.

In a Twitter update, Sifuna slammed DP Gachagua’s recent remarks that the Kenya Kwanza Government will favor those who voted for President William Ruto over those in opposition.

The ODM Secretary General argued that Raila Odinga won in most of the counties during the 2022 general election, representing 61 percent of the Kenyan population.

“Baba won 27 of the 47 Counties. Those Counties represent 61% of Kenya’s Population and 63% of the Country’s economic output. This is why we cannot be ignored and it is why I have brought a motion of censure against Rigathi Gachagua before the Senate,” Sifuna stated.

Speaking in Kericho on February 19, Gachagua equated the people who voted for Kenya Kwanza as the majority stakeholders in the current government, who must be sorted first before anyone else.

“This Government is like a company guaranteed by shares. There are those with many shares and those with few shares.

“Therefore, those who voted for us and supported us must enjoy the benefits first,” he said.

Sifuna’s motion will be debated by Senators once approved by Speaker Amason Kingi.

However, it is likely to fail as the Kenya Kwanza coalition has a supermajority in the Senate.
