Every Kenyan Citizen will now be required to have a huduma number (Namba) issued through the NIIMS portal. This is applicable to every person residing in Kenya.
The huduma number (Namba) will be used for registration and processing of information in the following government departments;
NRB,CRD,Refugees Affairs,Immigration and NEMIS
Registration for the Huduma Namba, also referred to as the National Integrated Identify Management System (Niims), was guided by a regulation gazetted in October 2020.
Under the Registration of Persons (National Integrated Identity Management System) Rules, 2020, the government sought to register Kenyans from six years.
How do you know your huduma card status?
Once the Huduma Card has been delivered to the delivery destination, the recipient will receive another SMS from HUDUMA NAMBA informing them that their card is ready for collection at the selected National Registration Bureau Office or Huduma Centre.
This SMS will indicate the serial number of the Huduma Card.
