Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp Finally Speaks On his Defenders possible injury comeback

During the pre-season tour in Austria, Klopp gave the latest injury updates on Virgil Van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip; adding that it is possible they be considered in the first team action next season.

The four defenders suffered a lengthy injury with Van Dijk’s being 9 months.

Talking on Van Dijk and Gomez, Klopp said that the two will not train as the rest of the team members but expects a great change in that come next month.

“Virgil and Joe will not have a double session now for the first few days with the team…(they) look really good.I don’t know exactly when we can make the next steps but it will happen in the next few weeks, for sure-we will get a big step forward,”Klopp said.

On the other hand, speaking on Matip and Arnold, he said that the two are expected to resume normal training very quickly.Liverpool’s boss added that he expects the two to get fit very quickly… to be fit fully by the next few weeks.

“Joel looks good, absolutely, he is the closest to probably return to normal training and then we will see where to get him started for playing.Trent’s injury was serious enough but now not a major one,I would say.He is close….In five or six or seven days he should be in his normal training team.
