Fresh Details On DP Ruto’s Meeting With Leaders Including 2 CS Who Were Accused Of Planning To Kill Him

The few years have not been the easiest for Deputy President William Ruto after he found himself on the periphery of a government he participated in its formation in 2013.

Ruto’s fortunes took a dwindling twist after the famous 2018 handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his ODM counterpart Raila Odinga. The move by President Kenyatta seemed to have unsettled the Deputy President and since then his fortunes have been taking the worse turns.

Despite the breakdown in relations with his boss, Ruto has maintained a composed figure as he looks to garner enough support to replace President Uhuru Kenyatta when his term comes to an end in 2022.

The Deputy President is reportedly set to meet a good number of leaders who allied to President Kenyatta to discuss crucial government business. Among the leaders who have been invited for the November 22 meeting at his Karen offices include Cabinet Secretaries James Macharia, Ukur Yattani, Peter Munya, Charles Keter, and George Magoha.

The move has come as a surprise to many people especially considering the bad blood between Ruto and Cabinet Secretaries Peter Munya and James Macharia who were accused to plotting the murder of the Deputy President back in 2019.

It’s unclear whether the leaders will attend the meeting or not.
