For the record, the Nyanza region has been leading in terms of HIV prevalence and infection rates. This has in turn attracted much attention in ensuring that the infection rates subsides in all corners.
Siaya County is among the places where for quite some time, it has been leading in terms of HIV prevalence and infection rates. According to research by KEMRI early this year, Siaya County was at 24.8%.
However, today, there is some good news as the research was done recently based on female sex workers, drug addicts and the LGBT shows that the county’s HIV prevalence and the infection rate is currently at 17% something which shows a positive curve.
However, even though this current data shows some improvements, much effort is needed to bring down the curve.
