“Incase Nikufe Msisumbuliwe Na Till Number” Flamboyant Luo Rapper Japesa Buys Himself a Coffin

Philip Ptaroba Okoyo, who is better known by his stage name Japesa, is a fast-rising Luo rap artiste from Kisumu but based in Nairobi.

Japesa, is a young, self-confessed flamboyant Luo rap artiste who is quickly gaining regional popularity. Legio Maria Church, was a more African adaptation of Christianity, incorporating the Luo cultures that Roman Catholic seemed to castigate. This is according to Japesa, who worked on Obong�o Nyakalaga with both Vioxii Dede and Khaligraph Jones. He felt it necessary to showcase these same religious practices through his own urban reimagination.
He became financially stable at a young age. By the age of 21, he owned several businesses including money lender/shylock business. He started by selling clothes and jewellery because people said they liked his style.
While taking to his official Facebook page, japesa has surprised many Netizens after sharing a photo of him with a Coffin saying that, “Bought myself a Coffin just incase nikufe msisumbuliwe na till number. His actions created an online stir with many having diffent opinions.
